Wednesday, February 10, Mount Airy City Schools held its district spelling bee. Twelve students participated and represented Jones and Mount Airy Middle School. Winner, Raymond Milian, and runner-up, Scarlett Brooks, battled for 26 rounds to move on to regionals. All participants did a great job standing in front of their peers and spelling!
The Winston-Salem Journal Regional Spelling Bee will be at Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in March. Congratulations to all contestants for reaching the district bee!
