STEAM Team

STEAM instructor at BH Tharrington Primary.  Kelly attended Appalachian State as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. She received her degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts. She is a National Board Certified teacher. Prior to teaching STEAM at BHT, she taught third grade for six years and fourth grade for three years.  This will be her third year teaching STEAM at BHT, where she teaches Kindergarteners, First Graders, and Second Graders. Her husband, Chris, is a PE teacher and head football coach at Forbush High School.  She has one child, Charlie and a dog named, Buddy. Her hobbies include exercising at Reeves Community Center, doing puzzles with Charlie, and finding hidden treasures at antique stores and flea markets. Kelly loves being a part of the STEAM program and witnessing her students' amazing ideas and creations.  
 
 
 
STEAM instructor at JJ Jones Intermediate School.  Adrienne has a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Geneva College, M.B.A. in General Business from New York Institute of Technology, AIG Licensure from Duke University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Lees-McRae.  She is certified to teach K - 6 and AIG K -12.  She is in her fourth year of teaching. She has two daughters.  Her hobbies include spending time with family, drawing, and playing basketball.
 
 
 
Shelia teaches Introduction to Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, Scientific & Technical Visualization I,  and Technological Design at Mount Airy High School.  She also advises the First Robotics High School Teams and the High School Esports Teams.
 
Shelia has a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Instructional Technology from the University of NC at Wilmington. Shelia is certified to teach (9-12) Science, (6-9) Math, (6-12) Technology and (6-12) Business & Information Technology.  Shelia also has her administrative license as an Instructional Technology Specialist - Computers.
 
Shelia has served as an intern toward the Career and Technical Education Directors License.  Prior to teaching STEAM at MAHS, she taught high school science for Pender County Schools for 6 years.  She has 11 years of classroom experience. Outside of the classroom she teaches AP Computer Science Principles for NC Virtual Public Schools.
