What is your educational background? I attended:

  • 3 K-5 Schools - 2 in North Carolina and 1 in Illinois
  • 2 Middle Schools - One in Florida and One in Texas
  • 3 High Schools - Texas, Oklahoma and North Carolina (Graduated from Wake Forest/Rolesville High School 1989)

I earned my Elementary Education K-6 Bachelors Degree from UNC-Wilmington and School Administration K-12 Masters Degree from UNC-Wilmington.

Where do you teach? What grade level(s) and subject area(s)? I am the Interventionist at Jones Intermediate School, grades 3-5, and I work in the Media Center.

How many years have you been in education? This is my 26th year in public education.

Tells us about your family. I have a wonderful husband, Randy, who is the owner of Trucking Consulting Company called Mayberry Safety Solutions.  I am very proud of my two children. Haylee is a Senior at Appalachian State University getting a Communications Degree in Marketing and Social Media, while Noah is a 3rd Class Petty Officer as an E-4 in the Navy.  I have a very sassy cat named Peaches and the best parents in the world, Gene and Glenda Murray who live in Raleigh. I have an older sister,Michelle who's married and lives in Kennedale, Texas with two sons. I also have a younger brother, Michael, who's married and lives in Raleigh with a daughter.

What is your favorite part of the year and why? My son Noah coming back from being gone...going all the way around the world on the USS John C. Stennis and then being stationed in Norfolk, VA!

Getting my new position as Interventionist and being able to work with all the teachers and students of Jones School!
