Chief Operations Officer Named

Dr. Greg Little states, “I am thrilled that Mr. Dorsett will be guiding the district’s efforts in operations. He has a unique understanding of our community and will be an invaluable asset to our leadership team. The future of our district is bright because of the leadership we have in place.”

Mr. Dorsett is excited about the future of Mount Airy City Schools. “I want to thank the Mount Airy City Board of Education, Dr. Little and the selection committee for this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to serving as the Chief Operations Officer of Mount Airy City Schools. In this role, I will work to support the employees of our school system and help lead continuous improvement efforts. My goal is to help ensure that our students receive the best possible education and develop the confidence and persistence necessary to meet the challenges of education, work, and life. I believe in our school system and the work that we will accomplish, as we move forward together,”

Mr. Dorsett will remain as principal at Jones Intermediate through the end of the year. Mount Airy City Schools will use the rest of the school year to identify the next principal at Jones. Both Mr. Dorsett and the new principal will begin their roles on July 1st, 2016.
