This month's Teacher Feature is Mrs. Kelly Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is the STEAM teacher for Tharrington Primary School. She took a moment to answer some questions for us. Check out what she had to say!
What is your educational background? I attended Mount Airy High School then became a Teaching Fellow at Appalachian State University where I earned a BS in Elementary Education. I earned my National Board Certification while teaching.
Where do you teach? What grade level(s) and subject area(s)? I am the STEAM teacher for BH Tharrington. I teacher kindergarten, first, and second-grade students.
How many years have you been in education? I just completed my 12th year in education. The 2016-2017 year begins my 13th year!
Tell us about your family. I am married to Chris Johnson who is a PE teacher and the head football coach at Forbush High School. We have one son, Charlie, who is 5 years old. Charlie loves Superman and going to the movies. We have one fur baby, Buddy, who is nine years old and loves going on walks.
