I went to Franklin Elementary, Meadowview Middle School, and East Surry High School. After high school I attended Surry Community College and Lees-McRae College where I earned my teaching degree.

I teach 4th grade math and science at Jones Intermediate School.
How many years have you been in education?
I was a tutor and substitute teacher for four years. I have been a teacher for five years.
What is your favorite part of the year and why?
Although I love snow, my favorite part of the year is baseball season! I love watching all of my past, present, and future students play ball and of course go Braves!

I want to show students that school can be fun and that it’s ok to have fun. We can grow academically but also grow to be kind, encouraging, respectful leaders. I want to give students confidence in themselves. They deserve someone believing in them.
