Update from Dr. George and Dr. Morrison

Dear Mount Airy City Schools Families and Community,

On Sunday, January 7, we were informed by the Mount Airy Police Department that a threat, which has been deemed a hoax, was circulating on social media. They notified us that they had investigated the situation and found it to be a hoax regarding a high school in another state.

We greatly appreciate the Mount Airy Police Department for being vigilent in making sure our students, staff, and community remain safe. In an effort to make sure students feel safe, administrators and staff will be on campus early tomorrow. We will also have an increased police presence at Mount Airy High School for Monday, January 8, 2018.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sandy George, Mount Airy High School Principal
Dr. Kim Morrison, Mount Airy City Schools Superintendent
