Due to the dropping temperature and wintry mix starting across our area, we will be closed for students today Monday, January 3. Teachers will have an optional teacher workday.

School districts that have a universal masking policy (“mask mandate”) and are active members of the ABC Science Collaborative can participate in a ‘Test to Stay’ program. Mount Airy City Schools will begin this pilot on Monday, October 18, 2021.

All the fresh baked cookies are happy to be hanging out with the rest of their batch. The Gingerbread Boys and Girls, the Ginger Snaps, Lady Fingers, Shortbread and of course, the giggling Snickerdoodles. But wait! Someone heard a rumor that they are all being taken to a Cookie Exchange! There, they will be separated from their familiar friends and forced to live with cookies so unlike themselves! Don't miss our delicious cast of Cookie Characters who show us that making new friends isn't quite as hard as we thought. Enjoy fun songs with our Bakers, Christmas Cookies, and of course the Puppies!!

Dr. John Morrow, Surry County Health and Nutrition Center's Medical Director, will host a virtual presentation to share more details about the currently authorized Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children (ages 5-11).

Mount Airy City Schools is holding a vaccination clinic at Jones Intermediate School on Friday, November 19th from 4:00-6:00 pm for any child who is 5-11 years old.

Students and staff must wear a mask while inside the school building. Please make sure students arrive at school with a mask each day. If you need masks for your child, please contact the school's principal.

Take a stroll through Downtown Mount Airy to hear the sounds of the holidays from various musical groups on Thursday, December 2nd from 6:00-8:00 pm. You can also follow the MAHS band at 7:00 pm for the lighting of the tree.
