Food Safety and Sanitation Grades

WHO INSPECTS THE FACILITY?
Each school's child nutrition program (kitchen,dining room, trash disposal area, etc.) is inspected by the Surry County Environmental Health Department's Registered Sanitarians a minimum of two (2) times per school year.
Key areas of focus include: Employee Health, Good Hygiene Practices, Approved Food Supplier, Protection of Food from Contamination, Potentially Hazardous Food, Temperature Observations and the Physical Facility.

In addition we have several school nutrition staff that are ServSafe certified. ServSafe is a 12 hour Food Safety Certification Course developed by the Education Foundation of the the National Restaurant Association (NRA).
