STEAM instructor at BH Tharrington Primary.  Kelly attended Appalachian State as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. She received her degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts. She is a National Board Certified teacher. Prior to teaching STEAM at BHT, she taught third grade for six years and fourth grade for three years.  Her husband, Chris, is a PE teacher and head football coach at Forbush High School.  She has one child, Charlie. Her hobbies include exercising at Reeves Community Center, doing puzzles with Charlie, and finding hidden treasures at antique stores and flea markets. Kelly loves being a part of the STEAM program and witnessing her students' amazing ideas and creations.  
STEAM instructor at JJ Jones Intermediate School.  Adrienne has a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Geneva College, M.B.A. in General Business from New York Institute of Technology, AIG Licensure from Duke University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Lees-McRae.  She is certified to teach K - 6 and AIG K -12.  She is in her fourth year of teaching. She has two daughters.  Her hobbies include spending time with family, drawing, and playing basketball.

Suzanne teaches Exploring Technology, Engineering & Design at Mt. Airy Middle School. She also advises First Robotics Lego League.


Suzanne has a B.S. in Business Administration from Gardner Webb University. Suzanne is certified to teach (6-12) Vocational Business Education and (6-12) Marketing Education. Prior to teaching STEAM at MAMS, she taught Computer Skills and Applications for 13 years at the Middle School.


Suzanne is married and has two children and a fur~baby. In her spare time she enjoys working with all kinds of crafts and spending time at the lake with family and friends.

Garrett is the Lead STEAM teacher. He teaches Technology, Engineering & Design, Drafting I & II at  Mt. Airy High school. He is also a part of the basketball coaching staff.
Garrett has a A.A. from Surry Community College, a B.S. in Building Science with a concentration in Architectural Technology and Design, a B.S. in Technology Education: Trade & Industry, a B.S. in Technology Education: Secondary Education from Appalachian State University.  Garrett is certified 6-12 in Technology Education and Trade & Industry.
Outside of education, he is Married to Courtney Howlett and has one daughter. He enjoys fly fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and basketball.
