Blue Bear Bus
The Mount Airy City Schools Blue Bear Bus (BBB) is one way that our district utilizes innovation for our students, families and the community. All BBB summer programming is planned by educators with a goal of high engagement that is directly connected to learning and FUN! Students participating in the BBB are given the opportunity to have hands-on experiences that support their understanding of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM). In addition, our BBB team strives to connect learning experiences to literacy through the integration of great books! Most importantly, every child is provided access to high-quality literature they can take home and build their own home libraries for personal and family reading.
If your organization would like to partner with Mount Airy City Schools to support Blue Bear Bus programming, please contact Penny Ballin at 336-786-8355 or [email protected]
A few things to remember about our Blue Bear Bus programming:
1) There is no charge to participate and you do not have to be a Mount Airy City Schools student to join.
2) Students age 5 to 12 are welcome to join the BBB for a fun day of exploration, creativity and a "beary" good time!
3) Parents and caregivers are welcome to join their child during BBB programming. We welcome and value family engagement.
4) You must register your child at the Blue Bear Bus on their first visit.
5) You must sign in your child each day they attend.
6) Participating students have access to free breakfast and lunch daily while attending the BBB. This is provided through our district's summer feeding program.
7) Your child will have fun while visiting the BBB and they will want to come back for another day!
