Registration Process
ENTRANCE PROCESS
MACS Dual Language Immersion Program welcomes all children, regardless of their race, sex, religion, or socioeconomic status. If you would like your child to enroll in the MACS Dual Language Immersion Program, you need to complete the following steps:
- Take a tour of Bruce H. Tharrington (BHT)
- Register for the program after the tour and before registration closes.
- Sign up and attend kindergarten registration.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR THOSE ENROLLING IN THE 2027-2028 SCHOOL YEAR
* DLI Sibling Intent to Enroll: A Google Form will be shared with current DLI families in September 2026. Upon completion of this form, sibling(s) enrollment will be verified.

- Starting Now: Pick up your enrollment packet by visiting BHT at 315 Culbert Street in Mount Airy, NC.
- Kindergarten Step Up Night-Informational meeting for families with a rising kindergartner. TBD
- Diving Into Kindergarten Event-must pre-register by calling the office): TBD
- Staggered Entry Days (for kindergarten students only). The teacher will inform parents of their child's assigned day at Open House: TBD
- March 19, 2027: Enrollment packets are due for those interested in the DLI program, and DLI registration closes.
- March 31, 2027: DLI Acceptance/Waitlist Letters mailed to families
* OUT-OF-MOUNT AIRY CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT DLI FAMILIES
If families live outside of the Mount Airy City School District, they are required to pay the following rates:
In County - $200, each additional child $100
Out of County - $600, each additional child $300

We are excited to hear that you are interested in our Dual Language Program at MACS. This program is designed to provide students with unique opportunities to become bilingual and biliterate while engaging in a rich and immersive learning experience.
We want to inform you about our enrollment priorities as you consider joining our program. While we welcome students from out of state, please note that North Carolina residents are given priority for enrollment in our Dual Language Program. Specifically, we prioritize siblings of current students, which means families with multiple children enrolled at our school will be given preference to maintain family continuity.
We will consider out-of-state applications once we reach our enrollment cap with North Carolina students. Should spots become available, we would appreciate it if you could submit your application as soon as possible to secure your place in our program. If a spot becomes available, you are responsible for paying a tuition fee of $1,330 for the first student and $665 for each additional student.
